Basic Grey Month

For me...it is always Basic Grey month! Seems I am always buying some or using some on my layouts or projects! But this month they are the featured manufacturer at A Walk Down Memory Lane, which means ALL Basic Grey is on sale! It also means that I "had" to do some projects with some BG this month! Not such a chore when it is my fave! LOL! Here are a few I came up with using 3 different lines.

This uses the Ambrosia line.
The Sultry line...did you know they now make this in fabric?!?!?
And an oldie but a goodie: Sugared!

Happy Easter!

Thought I'd do an early Easter post as I have time right now and am not sure if I will again before Easter! I made these cute little chocolate bunnies using Hershey Nuggets, the patterned paper from the April AWDML Kit, and a little bunny head stamp that my friend Amanda let me use! She also had a tail stamp but the thought of cutting out so many little tails was not my idea of fun! So we ran over to JoAnn's and bought some bunny tails! :) Isaac had a great time putting these bunnies together for his teachers and classmates!

April Fool's Day...Preschool Style!

I just thought this was the cutest thing! Today for snack, Miss Katie told the kids they were going to have brownies. Then she proceeded to hand out these large "brown e's"! She also put a drop of food coloring in the bottom of their cups without them knowing so that when they poured their milk, it turned color! Isaac thought this was about the best holiday ever! :)And here are the projects I made with the AWDML April kit: "Shrooms and Buds". The little buckets are the containers from American Craft felt flowers!

It's almost time for the April Kit from A Walk Down Memory Lane. Here are just a few sneak peeks of what I've done so far! And wait until you see who the featured manufacturer for April is! It's a good one! And it will all be on sale! Check back in April to find out who it is!

He Said

That's the name of the March kit from A Walk Down Memory Lane. I did this card with some of the pieces I had leftover after making 2 layouts...one a double pager. I still have lots to play with too!
I am hoping for a couple boxes of happy mail today...one will be my last shipment from AWDML with the April kit and some other goodies to play with. The other thing I am hoping will arrive today is the March Kit from Concroption! Love the colors in this! In fact I went to the Gap Outlet last week and came home with this exact color palette! Obviously couldn't pass this kit up! Plus you get a free gift when you order it! Can't wait to play!

Post 100!!!

Wow! Can't believe I have done 100 posts! Make sure to leave a comment here to be entered in a drawing for a RAK! I'll announce the winner on my 101st post...whenever that is!

Spent Friday and Saturday at CKC Portland but forgot to take my camera! Friday I worked in the CocoaDaisy booth and had a lot of fun hanging with Tricia and Krista! Saturday was shopping day and we took a class as well. Now the countdown begins for next year! :)

Here is a challenge I just posted on the AWDML dt blog! Enjoy...and if you do it...send me a link for another entry into the RAK drawing!

Weekend Challenge: Do Something Unexpected

I hope everyone is recovering from losing an hour of sleep last night! I know I have gotten a very late start!

Today's challenge is to take a product in your stash and do something unexpected with it. Put a different twist on a much used staple.

I chose one of my favorite things right now...journal spots! I love them! I took this one from Making Memories and made it into the front of my card. I love the result! It is definitely a different looking card that someone will enjoy getting! Here is what I came up with!

Happy Day mm

And the best thing about this card...everything I used is on sale in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store right now because it is all from our featured manufacturer...Making Memories! (except the cardstock and ink!)

Supplies: cardstock, brown ink, journal spot, glitter stickers, pink paper, green paper, brad

Remember to send us a link when you do this challenge! We'd love to see your take on it!

Been awhile...again! And soon...a RAK!

I don't know where the time goes! I have had a bunch of scrap stuff going on and forget to blog! I did last week's Crowned layout for Scrapdango. It was the "bikini competition" and although they teased that we'd need a picture of ourselves in a bikini (I so would have been done!), it was really to make a skimpy layout. They gave a list of embellishments and we got to choose only 2 and could also only use 2 pp. I chose stitching and buttons as my embellishments. This was hard for a lot of people but I think I am a pretty minimalistic scrapper by nature so it was really a good one for me! Here it is: This week is the "interview competition" and our layout has to be about us. Still not sure where I am going with that one! And I need to get it figured out soon as we are going to the beach this weekend!

Angie posted some sneak peeks of the March kit over at A Walk Down Memory Lane! You're going to like this one! It has some subtler colors in it with some fabulous embellishments too! I am still playing with it but the stuff I've done was super fun!

Also working on some altered things for Concroption! Know what I am doing on one of the things but the other has me stumped! I need to get thinking!

Now to that RAK (random act of kindness for those of you new to this!) This is my 97th post and I've been blogging almost a year! So I though it'd be fun to give some stuff away! I know I have a very neat Tim Holtz mask and some other embellishments too just sitting here waiting for a good home! Just leave a comment on any post from now until I hit 100! (that's 3 posts!) and in my 101 post I'll announce the winner! Hopefully I'll do a better job at posting so you won't have to wait too long! :)

Sheer Card

Here is the card I promised you last night! I made this card using the She Said kit from A Walk Down Memory Lane and this week's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. It was fun to play along again! I don't think I had since August! They're always such great sketches! Here's the sketch and then the first picture is of the card open and then I am showing it to you closed because it matches the sketch better closed!

February Kit at A Walk Down Memory Lane

Just thought I'd show you a few of the projects I made with this months kits. And yes, I said kits! I ordered the card kit this month as well! It has some really neat Valentine's papers in it. The 2 cards I made are from a sketch from one of the other dt members.

AWDML Feb Kit Sneak Peeks

Sorry I haven't been real great at getting posts up! I don't know why, but it seems like every night I have something! Next week is the same way but then things get back to normal...at least I hope then do! I am also fighting pink eye in both eyes! I had just gotten new contacts after having to wear my glasses for a couple weeks because I didn't have any contacts left and now I can't wear contacts for 7-10 days! Figures!

Working on a challenge for Concroption right now...some paint is drying as I type this! Also have some AWDML layouts to do with the February kit. I've finished one and a couple cards so far. Can't show those to you yet but here are a few sneak peeks! The first one is from the Feb card kit and the other is from the monthly scrapbooking kit!

Balance

My word for the year is balance. (if you don't know about one little word...see Ali's blog here) Since being accepted on a couple scrapbooking design teams this past year, I have really struggled with balancing my hobbies, being a mom, housekeeping, exercising, being in God's word, and many other things as well. My hobbies used to take a backseat but now that I am on the dt's, I have an excuse as to why I HAVE to do a layout or card! And while it is good to have "me" time, it has left my house a mess, laundry undone, my kids sitting in front of the TV, and a tummy I want to get rid of! All why I want to work on the balance of my life. To remind myself daily of my word, I made this sign to hand in my scrapbooking area. I used the January kit from AWDML.

Do you like My Mind's Eye?

MME has some great new paper lines out right now. But what is really awesome is that they are this month's featured manufacturer at A Walk Down Memory Lane and so it is ALL on sale! Here are a few things I did with a few different MME lines. This layout uses the 29th Street Market line and the rub-on is from the laundry line line. (does that even make sense?)

Both cards use MME's Laundry Line paper and embellishments. It is a little hard to tell in the picture but the paper is very glittery! But it is not the kind that comes off on your hands and clothes and everything else it touches! Very fun paper to create with!

Vintage Home Kit

You have to check out the January kit at AWDML! It is awesome! I absolutely love it! I have made two layouts so far and I have a ton left to play with! I am trying to think of something I want to alter with it and leave out on my desk so I can look at this pretty paper all the time! Big changes are in store at A Walk Down Memory Lane for the new year as well! Look for a monthly card kit, a copic markers club, as well as the usual scrapbooking kit! Also, we are going to be focusing more on the dt blog rather than the message board. So look for our regular weekday posts...a different designer each day of the week! And you will now get a new class EVERY Saturday and a new challenge EVERY Sunday! What fun! Looking forward to 2009!

Tutorial for A Walk Down Memory Lane

Hello ladies! Today's class makes a great gift for the little girls on your lists! And it is SUPER easy! In fact as I was starting to write it up...I realized there isn't much to it so there is just one picture at the end!

Supplies:
Hair Clips
E6000 adhesive or Hot glue gun
Sandpaper

1) Sand the end of you clip a little...this helps the adhesive grip.

2) Adhere the gems or pearls down the center of the butterfly (I did 3) or to the center of the flower. I tried a lot of different adhesives for this and found the adhesive already on the Kaiser gems worked the best! My 2 year old has worn hers 4-5 times and none have fallen off!
3) Glue the butterfly or flower to the end of the clip. The E6000 glue is strong! Your felt won't fall off! It does take 24 hours to dry. I have used the hot glue gun before but have had to restick later!

This picture isn't great...I'll try to get another one when the sun comes up!

Here's my daughter wearing one for her 2nd b-day which was a butterfly party!
That's it! Easy as can be!

Here's a little sneak peek of what I did with the November kits at AWDML!

More fun stuff tomorrow! Stay tuned!
