LOST is tonight!

It is FINALLY time for Lost to start up again! We are a bit excited around here! Tadd invited some of his friends from work to come watch. I decided we need to get even more in the Lost frame of mind! Found some downloads online and whipped this up!

Something New #4.....1/22-1/28

I am a day late on this because my computer was having some issues yesterday...everything was SUPER SLOW! One call to Comcast today and they reset my modem and we are back to FAST! :)

Albums
As a scrapbooker for the last 10 years or more, albums should NOT make my something new list. Sadly, they do! I had stacks (one in my scrapbook room and one in my scrapbook pantry!) of layouts just sitting there waiting for a home! After doing a little reorganizing this Christmas Break, I finally just went and bought the albums and put them in! It is so great! My mom was over today and could actually look at all my layouts! :)

Busy Scrapping!

I thought I'd share a few more layouts today.
This I made for the Tango @ Scrapdango crop. I wrote directions for the layout and the ladies just had to follow the directions. It was so fun to see how different they could be using the same set of directions!This was for a call at Pagemaps. They got over 400 entries and needless to say, it wasn't me! :) But, I did get a layout done!I did 2 others this week as well but can't show either one yet! More on those later!

Something New #3.....1/15-1/21

I am so going to have to cheat a bit on this one! What actually WAS new around here was I had strep throat for the first time ever! Yuck! It knocked me OUT! I have never slept so much...not even when I was pregnant! Anyway...that is so not a fun something new! So let's try this one...

Glimmer Mists
Using some of the money I earned on etsy, I bought myself 5 new bottles of Glimmer Mist. I love that stuff! I already showed this layout....the one for the warm-colors layout challenge but here is a close-up! I used Candy Apple Red, Peach Delight, and Yellow Daisy glimmer mists on it. I simply sprayed red, then orange, then yellow on white cardstock! I love the look! And love that you can make your own background paper! And LOVE how easy it was!And here is another "new" thing for me...this layout was the gallery pick in the CocoaDaisy newsletter! COCOADAISY!!!! I was over the moon! :)

There's Still Time!

There is still plenty of time to get your layouts in for the Tango at Scrapdango Crop! The challenges (all TWELVE of them!) have been posted but you have until Friday the 22nd at midnight est to get yours submitted! The gallery is just filled with awesome layouts right now!

Something New #2.....1/8-1/14

Kool-Aid Play-Dough
I have actually made Kool-Aid play-dough before but this was a new (to me) recipe that did not involve any stovetop cooking. You DO have to add boiling water but because it wasn't on the stove, I just put bowls on the table and the kids did all the mixing! (before the water was added!) This dough has a great feel to it too! There are no pictures of the kids playing with it because I was playing with it too! :)

1 cup flour (I found the dough to be to sticky so I added flour at the end until it felt right and didn't stick to our hands!)
1 package Kool-AidKool-Aid (any flavor)
1 tablespoon cream of tartar

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup salt
3/4 cup boiling water

Mix all dry ingredients in bowl then oil, then pour boiling water in and mix thoroughly. Wrap in cellophane or air tight container and store in fridge. The play dough should last a few months.

A couple things:

*We used cherry, orange and lemonade Kool-Aid. The lemonade doesn't color it at all so I added food coloring to the yellow but the read and orange are colored just with the Kool-Aid.

*I was out of (or never had?) cream of tartar. I did an online search and someone said for making play-dough, you can substitute lemon juice...it's about twice as much lemon juice as cream of tartar! (you can also use vinegar but I didn't want that smell!)

*This recipe made one of the balls in my picture...we all made our own in separate bowls! However, if you just make one batch, there will be plenty for 2-4 kids! (or moms!)
