Crayon Rolls

I made these last night for our vacation! I got the tutorial here. The tutorial was well written and really easy to follow even for a novice sewer like me! A couple things I would change...not sure if I would use the iron-on vinyl. As she says in the tutorial it makes the crayons slide out a little easier and to be honest, I'm not sure I would care too much if the material got marked up! She has another tutorial here for one NOT using the vinyl! Also...I would probably not add the ric rac. But that is more because of my sewing abilities (or lack thereof!) than the tutorial or how it looks! I just didn't get it pinned right on either one. So on Isaac's there isn't enough showing and then on Erin's it is too much! But I LOVE the toggle on the cord! All the other tutorials I found used a tie closure and I knew that my kids can't do that! Isaac can do this all on his own! Which is great since he'll be in the backseat and he can help Erin with hers! All in all a very successful sewing project for me! :)

Graduation Congrats

Since Tadd is a teacher and coach at the high school he goes to graduation every year. I have gone several years too since the 6th graders I used to teach go to his high school. This year was even more special for me...this was my last group of 6th graders before I quit to stay at home. This was the largest class to graduate in Oregon this year! I think it was 507. The statistic that shocked me the most was that this class has people that speak 42 different languages! I thought that was A LOT! Especially for a small town girl who went to school where there was only 1 language!Also graduating this year was these 3 awesome girls. They have all been running for Tadd for all 4 years and we have quite literally watched them grow up! They have been God sends to us for their love of our kids too! When I told Isaac that the 3 of them were graduating (and then explained what that meant) he started crying hysterically. We will miss them for sure! For graduation presents I took the kids to Build-a-Bear and recorded the kids saying I Love You! I think the girls liked them! :)And since this is a scrapbooking blog, these are a couple of the grad cards I made this year! :)

A Little Color!

The end of the school year is always so hectic! Isaac is done with preschool and I officially have a kindergartner! WOW! My last group of 6th graders from my teaching days graduate from high school on Friday...can't wait to see them walk across that stage! And my first group of 6th graders are graduating college this year! Holy cow! Tadd is done teaching in one week! Can't believe the summer is almost here!
I have been playing along with some of the daily prompt challenges posted by Sue over at Cocoa Daisy. I think my favorite are her color atc prompts. I have decided to make a 6 x 6 color album just for me! I am using it as an excuse to play with my camera and editing program! Here are the ones I have done so far!
